The Confederate Widow

I would like to place The Confederate Widow in a Confederate Cemetery
here in Huntsville. Of course, I would need permission from the
cemetery. Wanted to know if any of ya'll would find that interesting.
Also, there are no rocks or downed trees under which to hide it. Can
it be hidden IN a tree instead of UNDER a tree?

Huntsville really is a neat little city in Alabama. We are called the
Rocket City because of the Space Flight Program here. I would like to
write clues that would take you by some interesting areas. What do
you think? This would be my first placed box.

i love the cemetary ones...old cemetaries are such cool places to go
exploring, especially the ones in the south!
many letterboxes are hidden IN trees...the crooks and crannies of old trees
make perfect places.

i look forward to finding yours on my next trip to 'bama. it's one of my
favorite states to visit and i've been to huntsville many times!

Thank you, Rene!

Have you really been to Huntsville several times? I must confess, I
am not a true, native Huntsvillian. I grew up in Houston,TX and left
there when I was 20. I joined the Air Force, of all things. But my
parents are originally from AL and my mother's brother and his wife
have lived here for about 25 years. I have been here since 95 and I
love this town. Left for 14 months to live in Nashville and realized
that Huntsville is in my blood! I hope I never leave North Alabama
again!

Kathleen -

Neat idea, and I think people would enjoy it. There is at least one
letterbox that I know of planted in the Confederate Cemetary in
Fredericksburg, Virginia (go to CLUES --> Virginia --> Northern
Virginia --> Confederate Cemetary). My wife and I enjoyed strolling
through the cemetary and reading the tombstones as we searched for
the box.

Good luck.

on our trip down there we'd stop in huntsville. my son is a jet freak so we
visited the space center a few times. i love alabama, love the area and the
people! i haven't been back for a couple years now, but hope to make a trip
soon. alabama does get into your blood :)
